Chicago-based musical endeavor Circle of Animals were conceived by multi-instrumentalist and respected producer <a href="spotify:artist:7dIRndEOJsT2FkWtOTc1Lf">Sanford Parker</a> (<a href="spotify:artist:5erdrAYztFRglp27OjVJij">Minsk</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:5Cz18ETgjR6kcVMUK0YOqD">Nachtmystium</a>, etc.) and <a href="spotify:artist:5CXnC5TvKhnUERFcMkKgmz">Yakuza</a> vocalist <a href="spotify:artist:2ntqbaOgDHQh9ED3DbvZTp">Bruce Lamont</a>, with the goal of paying tribute to that city's celebrated industrial music legacy. To that end, the pair approached a versatile cast of guest drummers, including <a href="spotify:artist:5UqTO8smerMvxHYA5xsXb6">Sonic Youth</a>'s Steve Shelley, <a href="spotify:artist:3WggbHDpj4rPKbL97zG5MQ">Tortoise</a>'s <a href="spotify:artist:4PphaaUl8xVZKCMlXZDIuX">John Herndon</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:2Ah9OuOj7B57gPD1cbwiaE">Municipal Waste</a>'s Dave Witte, <a href="spotify:artist:4S2VWuUV0ei7LG0I8JDFww">Cephalic Carnage</a>'s John Merryman, <a href="spotify:artist:3npIzgA2uj6DyE6yLfdU44">Unearthly Trance</a>'s Darren Verni, and others, to contribute their talents to Circle of Animals' debut album, Destroy the Light, released in 2010 by <a href="spotify:search:label%3A%22Relapse+Records%22">Relapse Records</a>. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
