Cirene

Cirene (pronounced chee-reh-neh) is an Italian house music producer hailing from an island in the middle of the Mediterranean. Attracted by the communal aspect of house music, his works mostly stem from a collection of obscure childhood memories. From low-top sneakers, colourful NBA jerseys to house music drenched beach parties, his music feels like a time when people could only show up and engage.

His exposure to house music is thorough and it dates back to the late 90s, but his experience producing it only spans a couple of years. Since he started releasing singles in October 2021, his works garnered the support of established tastemakers in the community, being featured in channels such as Moskalus, House Six, Berlin House Music and Kiffen Beats.

Shaped by 15 years producing rap music, his musical palette is as diverse as it gets. From the rawness of straight breakbeats, to the never ending quest for the perfect sample, that part of his journey allowed him to discover different cultures and even more genres. His hazy electric pianos, the hypnotising pace of the rhythm section, together with the dreamy and sparse melodies provide the listener with the feeling of a memory long lost yet so close once rediscovered.

Cirene is a project born from the need to share and free expression, without judgement or ego and it's meant to document a journey towards self-acceptance, aiming to uplift the listener and build new connections.
