Citiboi, real name Abiodun Adesola Banjoko, is an independent multi talented rapper/singer/music producer and sound engineer who hails from Lagos, a commercial city in Nigeria. Although born in Mushin on June 2 , he lived a larger part of his early life in Ikorodu, both suburb areas of the city of Lagos. He discovered his love for music at an early age as a drummer and percussionist in a Celestial Church Parish in Ikorodu and later rose through the ranks as a backup and eventually the lead singer. However his love for secular and his eventual style of music Afro Hip Hop, was inspired by "Anoti" by one of Nigeria's most succesful rappers MI. According to him, the local percussions in the beat and MI's delivery on the song really piqued his interest to create local rap sounds fused with African percusions and musical elements. He described Dagrin as one of the people who influenced his choice of art.
