Cities of Mars is a heavy and atmospheric band hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden.
The band was formed in 2015 when Danne Palm (bass/vox) teamed up with Christoffer Norén (guitar/vox) and Johan Aronstedt (drums/backing vox) to create a heavy band with an integrated storyline - where the KGB cosmonaut Nadia lands on Mars on a covert mission in 1971 and shortly after disappears into the misty depths of an ancient conspiracy
Cities of Mars have played 80+ shows all over Europe, including Desertfest London and Desertfest Antwerp.
The self-titled album Cities of Mars (released May 2022) is the most personal and musically accomplished album so far from the Swedish trio, bringing forth even more musical facets to the band's sound. Each song is depicting a story from each of the seven cities on the red planet, but like all previous releases, the songs also provide chapters in the ever evolving story about the ancient civilization on Mars, discovered by a Soviet KGB cosmonaut in 1971.
