A group of friends who formed an expressive ensemble sharing similar creative, musical, literary and conceptual interests. City Rose was started by Andrew Exten and Patrick McCarthy in an attempt to make music that might fill what they viewed as a gap in the Sydney music scene. Followed closely by Hunter Auzins and Lucy Howroyd, both sharing a similar enthusiasm.
Layered with thunderous bass, pounding drums, insane guitar and poetically heavy vocals, City Rose bring one of the most unique and confronting sounds to any lineup they are on. They've done high profile shows all across Australia playing with the likes of IDLES, Shogun and the Sheets, Die! Die! Die!, Horror My Friend, Shady Nasty, Buzz Kull and many more.
