Claes Sønderriis

Claes Sønderriis is a composer, pianist, and singer from Aarhus, Denmark. He is a former winner of DR’s Karrierekanonen, an annual competition for emerging musicians.

In the fall of 2020, the singles Mur af glas, Meget mere mig selv, and Noget som helst were released, with music by Claes Sønderriis and lyrics by Clara Skaarup. The music blends an electronic soundscape with rich vocals—both lead and backing.

In the spring of 2021, two singles were released from the year Claes Sønderriis was one of the winners of Karrierekanonen. The titles are Sommer and Det' sådan du er. Since then, he has continued to release additional singles.

In the fall of 2025, the EP 4 Pieces for Piano will be released—four solo piano pieces, written and played by Claes Sønderriis. Unique music with a strong emotional expression.

In addition to his solo work, Claes Sønderriis is also a singer in the Aarhus Theatre Choir. At the theatre, he has performed in numerous concerts and as a choir singer in the productions Lyden af de skuldre vi står på, Dancer in the Dark, Romeo og Julie, Natten, and Teaterkoncert Thomas Helmig.
