Clay Howard- a 30 year veteran of the NC music scene. is the former singer of stratocruiser, Barely White, Diggin’ Taters and other bands dating back to the late 1980’s. His first solo CD, “Who the Hell is Clay Howard?”, was released in April of 2015 and spent 3 months on the Classic Rock top seller’s chart on Amazon. The album also gave birth to the song, “Send Me an Angel,” which was voted the #1 song on WMEL, Melbourne, Florida for the year 2015. That same year , Clay was voted “Male Vocalist of the Year” by Twirl Radio on KUBU, Sacramento, CA.
In 2017, Clay released a pair of EPs, and was voted “Best Vocalist in the Triad” by the readers of YES! Weekly.
The full length followup to "Who the Hell is Clay Howard" - "Clay Howard doesn't know who you are either.." was released on limited edition 12 in. vinyl in April 2019.
In 2021, Clay released 2 full-length albums on limited edition CD, both selling out in less than 30 days. These songs have not been distributed digitally with the exception of two singles.
In 2022, Clay was voted: Best Vocalist, Best Songwriter, Best musician in the Triad by the readers of YES! Weekly.
2023 saw the release of new music, beginning with the single, “I’m Here..” February brought the release of a cover of Neil Diamond’s “Forever in Blue Jeans.” , and the year ended with “Chasing Your Ghost” and a 5 song EP, “retro, Man.”
2024 saw Clay joining forces with Fran Sandifer for “Clay and Fran” with 14 singles released..
