As the proud daughter of a United States Marine, Cle Char Harris' mom's mother and her parents were Italian immigrants who came to America in the early 1900s. They spoke no English and loved polkas and the sounds of the Italian accordion. At times, an accordion was actually brought into the home of her mom's Italian grandparents to entertain the family during mealtime.
A Marine Corps veteran, CLE CHAR's mother passed too soon, leaving her with her family's love of music. Cle Char Harris turns her grief into song throughout HOMAGE and her entire discography of covers and instrumentals while showing her raw emotions. Harris showcases her emotional vulnerability with touching tributes including vocal and instrumental versions of the Marine Corps Hymn that encompasses fusion, classical and world musical genres.
HOMAGE is a mix of many musical genres, including Neo-soul, country blues, jazz, pop, world, Afro-Caribbean, and classical. Harris incorporates her family's Italian heritage and Southern roots into uplifting melodies featuring gospel influences and bluesy jazz in tribute tracks including "My Way" by Frank Sinatra. “Green Green Grass Of Home” stands out with a country bluesy jazz genre that many listeners will recognize.
Harris doesn't stop at fusing a few genres into one. Songs should be meaningful and touch audiences' hearts. Enjoy HOMAGE and prior releases such as MIACETTI II to get the full grasp of the singer's trials and triumphs in the face of adversity.
