CLEAVER

Inspired by the American underground codes of Punk Hardcore to create a violent and unadorned universe, CLEAVER invites us to wander in a dark and oppressive dimension that will not leave you unmoved.


Founded in the Eastern region of France in May 2018, the group is formed around Mathis Garelli (vocals and guitar), and Léo-Paul Garelli (drums). The brothers were quickly joined by Franck Fortina (bass and vocals). During their initial year of existence, the trio released two studios singles and were able to express themselves on stage, notably along the American band Crowbar, as well as others renowned groups in France, like Lofofora or Sidilarsen.


Although there is a significant age difference between the two brothers and the bass player, band mates come together around influences from the scene of the 90/2000 years with groups like System of a Down, Pantera, or even Mike Patton and Converge.


CLEAVER offers a rough alternative metal which combines intense riffs, tortured vocal parts, with powerful drums which brings a high technical quality to their style.
