Clemm

Clemm is a Dutch indie pop project by Willem Janssen (1978). His music is mainly known for its dreamy combination of electronic sounds and traditional instrumentation.

On his first two records, Willem has worked with several international guest vocalists, among which Robert Fisher (<a href="spotify:artist:6MnQV8O2R0Oci41F4HLB59" data-name="Willard Grant Conspiracy">Willard Grant Conspiracy</a>, USA), Richard Neuberg (<a href="spotify:artist:2tp6jLYuKpjLoN7OAaH5Z1" data-name="Viarosa">Viarosa</a>, UK), Rosa Agostino (<a href="spotify:artist:2dFaI6gmjHblmiH8YKtnDz" data-name="Red Ghost">Red Ghost</a>, AUS), <a href="spotify:artist:7A6JmzQ1VLKqqLQGlBc1Hm" data-name="Lucky Fonz III">Lucky Fonz III</a> (NL), George van Wetering (<a href="spotify:artist:1j1SytNuBSzXUkCMOfRVhH" data-name="Monokino">Monokino</a>,NL), Arjen van Wijk (<a href="spotify:artist:7wEWh8ahwMvchJ3X6coCZO" data-name="This Beautiful Mess">This Beautiful Mess</a>, NL), Jaap Warmenhoven (<a href="spotify:artist:2oP5A8XR5KW8UVWmnRpgTV" data-name="Ed Bahonie">Ed Bahonie</a>, NL) &amp; <a href="spotify:artist:5gjFO4CE89F2EZjcttKFF1" data-name="John Carrie">John Carrie</a> (IRL).
For his 2009 album Far From Arcadia, Willem decided to to go back to basic and perform all lead vocals himself. Clemm’s 3rd full-length album Bird Hands was released in 2013 on both vinyl and cd. On this album, he shared vocal duties with John Carrie &amp; Carelain Bergtop.

Willem has been teaching Dutch as a second language to immigrants for 15 years now. Since 2015, his alter ego <a href="spotify:artist:4KOZ71L8WbhfeH2Z5xwxm6" data-name="Meneer Janssen">Meneer Janssen</a> has written a lot of educational songs to help people learn Dutch. The corresponding video clips are being used by Dutch and Flemish language schools and can be found on his popular Meneer Janssen YouTube channel. He also published two poetry books and a children&#39;s book.

In 2022, he started writing some intriguing new Clemm songs in Dutch. First single Obscuur talks about the illness and death of his beloved stepfather and has been released on April 15, 2022. 4th single Loom featured <a href="spotify:artist:0MuQqQYmq721COfmJ8v4Au" data-name="Betania Hernandez">Betania Hernandez</a> on violin. His latest single Terug in de tijd is out now!
