Cloud Season

Cloud Season is a Detroit based band formed in 2023 by Matthew Markey(Vocals/Guitar), formerly of Wolfshark, and his life long best friend Joshua Akers(Guitar). The initial music was written over the course of Matthew's life, ranging from ideas he had as a teenager to songs he wrote during his 6 years exploring life, love and music in Seattle.

After the first songs were demoed, Matthew realized he'd be relocating back to Detroit and reached out to Chris Jenkins(Drums), formerly of Search The City and Living Like Ghosts. Chris loved what he heard and shared similar taste and influences. Soon after, Chris's life long best friend and band mate Steven Kennedy(Bass/Vocals), also formerly of Living Like Ghosts, would express interest after hearing the demoes and swiftly join the band. Steven offered multiple talents such as vast experience as a bassist and also as a versatile vocalist that can sing, harmonize, and deliver gut wrenching screams.

Influences for Cloud Season came from a deep love of artists such as Underoath, Tycho, Modest Mouse, Rob Zombie, and Gorillaz amongst others. Listeners can expect a dynamic range of sounds while blurring the lines between genres such as Post-Hardcore, Indie-Pop, and Lo-Fi Drum & Bass. Several songs feature heavy and violent guitar riffs accompanied by lo-fi samples while others introduce a romantic and seductive feel with mature lyrics based in life experience and perspective.
