Cloud Tangle is a solo project of multi-instrumentalist, composer and producer Amber Ramsay. The music aims to evoke a contemplative and dreamy mood that transports and envelops the listener, especially when paired with visual media. Ramsay began the project at the end of high school with a background in classical piano and a love of film soundtracks. It was inspired by the rise in DIY “bedroom” artists who were able to use the development in musical technology and marketing to freely create and retain creative control. Orchestrating the musical and visual aspects of the project independently remains at the core of the ever evolving output of work. Despite creating in solitude, these works have been released and performed with the help of artist-led label 4000 Records and False Peak Records, both based in Meanjin, Australia.
