CLOUD VELVET is a multifaceted project which has found its place in exploring various music genres, from synthwave, shoegaze, Americana, dance, to rock and industrial. Simple poetics underlying the rich metaphorical images of lyrics, narrated through Lydia's airy voice and Sebastian's multi-instrumentalist arrangements, was something that came naturally to us. Walking through life with a retro-futuristic minimalist approach is just another form of art that allows us to rewrite history by going back to the future. When bringing our feelings and thoughts to words and sounds, we nonetheless surrender to the Dreamer in us who travels across the soft velvet-like sky, building a staircase to a whole new world, free from earth's limitations and rigid concepts of mind. We've always been drawn to perceive music as the soundtrack of our lives, which is why we hope our music ends up sounding as a film soundtrack.
