Clunis

Clunis is a multi-instrumentalist songwriter whose musical journey began at a young age with the guitar. Things became more focused—and just a bit rebellious—when he discovered a bass guitar in his sister’s bedroom. Forgetting any instruction he'd been given, he immersed himself in bass lines from Bob Marley and Patrice Rushen records. By his late teens, he’d drawn inspiration from a unique blend of influences: Frank Ocean’s raw emotional depth, Thundercat’s otherworldly funk grooves, and Corinne Bailey Rae’s smooth soul.

In his early adulthood, Clunis performed on countless local stages before embarking on international tours as a bass player. His songwriting is marked by earnest melodies that convey honest truths, woven with colorful harmonies. His soulful instrumentals create a lush soundscape that frames poetic introspection, delivering a heartfelt message within every composition.

Clunis established himself as a musician in 2018 in Austin, Texas, where he honed his craft and thrived in the city’s vibrant music scene. Born and raised in central Texas, he has always found music to be his most natural means of expression, feeling most at home behind an instrument. Now, Clunis is embarking on a new chapter, channeling his artistry into creations meant for the world to hear.
