Cocoy started to commit on music during the pandemic and went on with it as his primary job as a freelance musician and producer for several independent artist.

Along with Miguel Llado and Edward Anthony Valde, he co-founded the New Pinoy Music Collective, where it focuses on artist empowerment, discovery, support, and has been organizing music events in different venues. He's also part of The Unplugged Collective, a group of independent pop artists, focusing more on acoustic music and pop.

He is also the songwriter, producer, and vocalist for the band “Mad Generic”, and the guitarist for "Bed Potato" and "Gen Giallo", and has produced songs for independent musicians and have been teaching song mixing with few people.
