Hailed by Consequence as “one of the freshest voices coming out of Nashville,” Southern glam rock artist Cody Belew’s music reflects his soulful roots through authentic storytelling and commanding vocals. Assembling a mix of candid originals and well-loved classics by artists who inspired him, Cody released his self-titled debut EP in early 2022. He received praise for his reimagining of the Brooks & Dunn classic “Neon Moon'' with GRAMMY® Award-winning producer Dave Audé which recently surpassed three million Spotify streams. Belew kicked off last year as a member of CMT’s “Listen Up” program (which counts Kacey Musgraves and Thomas Rhett as alumni) leading into the release of his powerful single “Charlene,” which chronicled his religious trauma as a Southern Baptist within the LGBTQ+ community. Striking a chord with fans, the powerful video racked up over one million views on YouTube. The title track “I Did It For Love,'' from his debut album of the same name, was released in September. Inspired by the actions of another artist whose insecurities villainized Cody, the song led him to realize that everything he does comes from love. His latest single “Horseshoes & Hand Grenades” is a lively disco tune inspired by 1970s country music, depicting his reckless abandon for a true and dangerous love. I Did It For Love drops October 4th, 2024 - after a slew of summer live shows for a fan base he’s built with his impassioned vocals, deft songwriting, and undeniable stage presence.
