My name is Cody Young, and I rap.
I chose to use my government name as my artist name because I want to be as authentic as possible.
Anyways, I started releasing music in college back in 2013. I was doing shows and proclaiming Jesus in my music, but in reality it was all about my own glory and recognition. I was steeped in religion and self-righteousness, I just didn't know it. After I graduated college, I went through a dark patch in life, thinking God was mad at me, not knowing if I was "good enough" to be saved. This dark period lead me to a revelation of His GRACE and LOVE that radically set me free from the bondage of man-made religion. I then made it my goal to expose the lies of religion, a theme that is prominent in my music to this day.
There is much more I want to share with you about my life, but long story short, after a 4 year period of not doing music, the Lord called me back to it! I am happy to announce my debut EP "Eagles". It contains personal lessons, testimonies, and heart cries from my life. I pray you are impacted by these songs. I believe the best is to come, and that God is going to do more than we can ask, think or imagine!
