Coffin Control is a record label based in Cleveland, Ohio founded by Zach Saxton and the late Nicholas Buchanan. Nicholas, rap name Chiobi, had a vision to become the forefront of the Cleveland music scene and after his passing Zach, or z6, got to work on making his dreams come true.
Saxton organically brought together a team of individuals including, but not limited to: Max Brinton, Tamara Joseph, Alex Olesen, William Alford and Mitchell Maly who form the administrative team responsible for everything from graphic design to brand management.
Saxton graduated from Miami University, and as a junior started the Rap Hip-Hop club to discover new talent and passionate people. In the first week of the semester he attended activity fair as president of the club, and one of the very first people to visit his booth was no other than Josh Karbon, who was a freshman at the time. The two immediately clicked, and Karbon A.K.A jxk has been the main producer of Coffin Control ever since.
After graduation, Saxton ran into an old friend named Ronnie Copfer. While Saxton was working an internship at a major record label, Copfer was being mentored by professional studio engineer Brad Puette. Copfer saw the vision Saxton had for CC, and he became the official sound engineer for the label.
The primary members of the label's fruitful beginnings grew up together and have been making music for years thanks to Chiobi, practicing their craft and finding themselves as artists.
