Cold Specks has released three critically acclaimed albums with Mute Records and Arts & Crafts. Her debut album, I Predict a Graceful Expulsion, was a monsoon of sound that rained expressiveness like a poet’s thought cloud. Genre classifications are besides the point, Cold Specks is a storyteller. Some people grow radically, hitting walls and changing directions as they bounce through life, which Ladan certainly did on her path to making music. After a forced sabbatical and a misdiagnosis of schizophrenia (Ladan is in fact bipolar), Cold Specks has reclaimed her creative autonomy and is currently working on new music.
