Coldkill is a New York-based project, founded in 2015 by Rexx Arkana (<a href="spotify:artist:32raKeUHkfUVqgGHbIPD2u" data-name="FGFC820">FGFC820</a>, <a href="spotify:artist:6pCn3f8YOHfOUcY2XBS0jE" data-name="Bruderschaft">Bruderschaft</a>) on vocals and lyrics and Eric Eldredge (<a href="spotify:artist:2k0b8mVaKJG74MX2Ayr1Ud" data-name="Interface">Interface</a>) on programming and production. The focus in both sonic and artistic virtue is that of the dark themes of early to mid 1990's EBM, 1980's darkwave, and similar styles.
The project allowed the duo to explore the sounds and influences of their youth, and for Arkana to explore different vocal and lyrical depths. This was done to express an authenticity similar retro-themed acts sometimes lack, due to the duo's years of exposure to, and involvement in, the genre.
After releasing a few digital singles in 2016, Coldkill signed to COP International, who released their LP "Distance By Design" on vinyl and digital in 2017.
