Coleman Spruce is the moniker used by musician and songwriter, Brent Meador. Meador grew up in Fort Worth, TX where he learned about music theory, while playing the trumpet in junior high. He then traded the trumpet for drums and became even more fascinated with writing and recording his own songs on the computer, using a lavalier microphone and basic Microsoft Sound Recorder.
While his recording setup became more advanced with time, he continued to prefer simpler solutions to recording problems, and his project became known as Coleman Spruce.
Meador sings songs, or "ghost pops," a name used to describe the sound and style of his music, which relies heavily upon reverb, echo and pop hooks.
