(EN) Colonel Maxwell is a legendary veteran singer of the Parisian reggae scene, whose exceptional career spans several decades. He is recognized for his pioneering role in the evolution of reggae in France and his advice that he was able to provide to many young talents throughout his career.

Colonel Maxwell took his first steps in music at the end of the 80s, at a time when reggae was emerging via the first sound systems in Paris. It was a powerful musical movement with strong demands. He has since sung for countless Sound Systems and continues to this day.

Over the years, Colonel Maxwell has distinguished himself with his exceptional “Rub a Dub Digital” style and his commitment to deeply conscious lyrics and Rastafari faith. He acquired his style in particular at the end of the 90s, when he lived in Waterhouse, this legendary district of Kingston in Jamaica where Tenor Saw and King Tubbys lived. There he recorded his first 45rpm single featuring Yami Bolo, a title entitled “ l'amour est dangereux”.
