Coloura

Coloura is a Cebu-based pop rock formed in 2016 and consists of Jake Relacion (vocals, guitar), Emil Baleva (guitar), Robert Lim (bass), Ziv Zoleta (drums). The band started out as a college cover band has undergone several line-up changes, even band names until, they started to write a few songs to make change in things that they do. The name was inspired by the film history — a transition from black and white to color which became a revolutionary moment for cinema, carrying the aesthetics to their EPs, In Between (2022) and Love And Influence (2023).

Inspired by a plethora of genres — Jake's emo and synthwave influences, Emil's hard rock and metal roots, Rob's hip-hop and funk staples, and Ziv's karaoke hits playlist — the band has successfully crafted a unique chemistry that defines their sound. The band's current sound, as Jake would describe it, is erratic, moving, and a blend of fake '80s and real '00s nostalgia. It's like meeting a new face that feels strikingly familiar. A contrast of aggressive and dreamy sounds. A bit serious but funny. A little more human.
