Conor Walsh is a 20 year old indie-folk artist from Co. Tipperary, Ireland. After only finding an interest in music at 17, he picked up the ukulele, but soon transitioned to guitar after a few months. A love of poetry and word blossomed as he began to harness his craft in songwriting. Walsh has a repertoire of diverse and very distinguishable songs, from slow fingerpicking to fast rhythmic strumming, sometimes coinciding on the same track.
A short stint as lead singer in the band, "Lineside Fire", earned Walsh and fellow band members high praise from former "Blink" frontman, Dermot Lambert, describing the bands sound as "a dirty version of The Smiths". Walsh has also been heavily featured on Lambert's weekly radio show on RTÉ 2XM. When asked about his influences, Walsh describes how he was heavily influenced by Jake Bugg and Alex Turner in his teenage years, but in more recent years he has drawn inspiration from the likes of King Krule and Benjamin Francis Leftwhich. The psychedelic sounds created by Mac Demarco, HOMESHAKE and Thundercat will often fill the room before he takes the stage. In terms of sound, Walsh's deep and resonant vocals have been compared to that of Tom Waitts.
After living in Ireland's capital for two years and after dabbling in college and other endeavours, Walsh has decided to focus his time on music. He now resides in Vancouver, Canada.
