Contumacy is a one-man act led by Anas Al-Ethawi, better known as Birtum. He is an emerging heavy metal artist originating from Iraq and based in Jordan. Birtum radiates raw emotion through explosive instrumentation. Even though metal music in the Middle East is frowned upon, Contumacy’s goal is to make metal music acceptable.
