Convertible is the follow-up to the legendary Austro-American Grunge Trio HP Zinker who split up in NYC in 1995. Mastermind Hans Platzgumer moved back to Europe, focused on elaborated Electronica, joined the Goldenen Zitronen, worked with Queen Of Japan and Tocotronic and many others and became a renowned author. He had always stayed in touch with Boston lyricist Hannah MacKenna. Together they released the first Convertible album in 2005 and seven albums since. Some of them more electronic, some all acoustic, they’re always
surprising and feature Platzgumer-MacKenna’s unique songwriting skills.

In 1995, legendary NYC-Austro-American Grunge outfit HP Zinker split up in mayhem and chaos. They had initiated two of the US most renowned Indie labels, Matador Records and Thrill Jockey, and had since used themselves up properly. Frontman Hans Platzgumer moved back to Europe and has hardly touched his guitar since. But he stayed in touch with his mate Hannah MacKenna. Ten years later they restarted the group as Convertible.
