What started in 2012 as an acoustic solo project from singer songwriter Justin Conway, gradually evolved to be a fast, loud, guttural and visceral post-punk band made up of a rotating cast of musicians…
In 2019, the band went on hiatus to record a studio album and spent the pandemic writing and recording “THE WAVE THAT YOU LOVE.”
Influenced by bands like Against Me, Bright Eyes, Jeff Rosenstock, Minor Threat and The Stooges, “THE WAVE THAT YOU LOVE” delivers powerful anthems with gut-punching lyrics about heartbreak, human suffering, personal tragedy, alcoholism, movies and cult TV shows.
“THE WAVE THAT YOU LOVE” was mixed and mastered at Fortress of Graditude Studios and produced by Justin Conway and Sasha Sonnier.
Conwaythewhale is dedicated to being actively anti-racist and advocates for reproductive rights, and the LGBTQ+ community.
