Harmonica player Jim Fitting worked his way up through the Boston roots rock underground to finally form the Coots. Originally the harpist for Treat Her Right, the '80s roots group that also featured Morphine singer Mark Sandman, he sat in with Bonnie Raitt and The The at various points after the dissolve of Treat Her Right. Finally, in 1999, Fitting hooked up with keyboardist Evan Harriman, drummer Phil Neighbors, and G. Love and Special Sauce bassist "King" Kane to form the Coots. Their first CD, Message From the Seventh Dimension, was released in 2001. ~ Bradley Torreano, Rovi
