Coral Blue are melodic pen pals that joined forces to create otherworldly soundtracks for the tortured soul.
Lia and Gary met by chance at a diner in Chicago. Gary was attending the premier of a ballet he scored for a Chicago based dance company and the two started a conversation while eating breakfast. They exchanged information and connected perfectly on a music direction level. Gary then spent several months writing the music for what would be their debut full length "Paris is Burning". Lia recorded her vocals in Chicago and sent them back to New York where Gary and an engineer mixed the record.
Influences range from M83, Daft Punk, Phantagram and Portishead. Lia’s vocal sound has been compared to a mix of Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish. Lyrically, Lia channels her struggles with substance abuse, relationships and self image, which she sings in both English and French.
