Cordasicula is an Italian Folk project, which produces music inspired by Sicilian and Southern Italy sounds and traditional rhythms; their music is composed and performed by singer and frame drums player Marilena Fede, and guitar, mandolin and tzouras player @Saro Tribastone
Cordasicula were born in 2012, have performed successfully in Ragusa (IblaFolk, Circolo Lebowski), Modica, Sampieri, Chiaramonte, Ragusa, Vittoria, Scicli; Portopalo, Rosolini, Brucoli, Noto, Siracusa; Milo, Piedimonte Etneo; Gallicano, Cave, Serrone; Pomigliano d'Arco; also they played some concerts in France during a one month tour.
The term comes from the word Cordasicula rope intended as charge, energy and movement. Pirandello wrote, metaphorically, through the theory of the three ropes that govern our social action: the rope serious, or consciousness; rope civil, or social norms, morality; finally the rope crazy, the most instinctive and irrational man.
We like to think that there is a fourth string, Sicilian rope, precisely which expresses our Sicilian mood, tying together past and present times, old and new music.
