The journey hasn’t been an overnight welcome into the entertainment business, but that hasn’t altered Corey Mekell’s love for what he does best. A couple R&B groups, failed management attempts and millions of YouTube Cover’s later, catching the ears of not only his peers but gaining new fans and some serious buzz along the way, gradual incline to really making a name for himself. He’s worked with the likes of Disney’s Raven Symone, background singing for Pop Superstar Jason Derulo, collaborating with Actress/MC Siya, recently toured with Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Eric Bellinger, to now bringing him along for his buzzing hit single “iF”. Riffs and runs can break a song, but when arranged correctly, they become a listener’s paradise. Mekell and Bellinger join forces in an effort to ‘do their best to change’ in their catchy apology entitled ‘If.’ New single suggests that the pair has messed up one too many times and they’re beggin’ and pleading to fix their wrongs, ‘If’ isn’t just about an R&B apology, but a real testament to male R&B singers competing vocally in perfect harmony. Corey’s lended some background vocals on T.I.’s upcoming album as well as writing for rising R&B artist HER. It’s evident Corey’s strategy is gradually progressing to create some major waves. Hard at work on his upcoming EP to be released this fall, it’s safe to say Corey Mekell will be sticking around for a while. He recently released his latest single “Nobody” ft Los Angeles’ own AD.
