Corey Tam is a canadian-born, Hong Kong-based singer-songwriter. Combining sombre vocal melodies with versatile guitar hooks and musical arrangement, his songs reflect a variety of influences: From melancholic folk, to upbeat pop-rock, to hints of blues and jazz.
His debut, self-titled release was an acoustic-driven album drawing on nostalgia and a yearning for the unknown. The EP opens with first single and crowd favorite “Champagne Eyes”, a retrospective effort that begins with light acoustic guitars before it crescendoes to a full blues refrain. Other standout tracks include “Mistress of the Sea” and the album closer, “Honey”.
His most recent single, “All the Time” takes on a sonic shift, employing synths and electronic beats to drive the song’s urgency. In part inspired by the recent pandemic, the song reminisces about experiences lost while expressing hope for better days ahead.
