Fascinated by hearing the opening riff of Deep Purple's "Black night" at age 10, Cormac would be hooked on music. Starting with classical guitar lessons and moving on to learning every blues/rock solo by the likes of Hendrix. Clapton, Peter Green it would become a life long passion. It was inevitably going to be the only life/career option even if interrupted by every manner of job from bartender to forester to chemist, it was only a matter of time before he would manage to make it a full time career.
From firstly being a sideman, electric blues rock guitar hero, he eventually moved into funk and indie areas, all the while honing his songwriting skills. He literally found his voice when he was persuaded to fill a temperamental vocalists shoes and since then has been the main singer or backup in most of his bands.
While seeing the production/mixing "skills" of engineers he decided to take a new passion for recording and set up his own studio The Jute Factory because, "why not! Cheaper! Lots of cool flashing lights thingies!". Post production was where his head was really at and he's carved a very distinctive niche in this field first with Irish Acid Jazz pioneers, "Fourteen" and then with alternative indie group, "Duped".
After relocating to Tampa, USA he has concentrated on his own band The Heartweights as well as classical guitar and other noodlings where you can find and enjoy here.
It promises to be eclectic .
