Coroce is a French metal band from Essonne. Formed in 2019, the band combines very different styles like death metal, post-hardcore, neo-folk and deathcore. "Insula" is the band's first concept album.
Coroce was formed in a basement in Essonne by 3 friends who were passionate about the sound of "heavy music". Their goal was to produce music that would mix their tastes and achieve the best production quality possible.
The research of the sound occupying an important part of the process of creation of the group, they created "Melting Core Audio" a studio to produce their projects.
For their first project, the band was strongly inspired by the first albums of Gojira.
With "Insula" they tried to mix the color and the energy of thoses riffs with the power of the modern metal and the atmospheres of the neo-folk.
Their lyrics are in French, in order to be as close as possible to the emotions they wish to transmit.
The concept album "Insula" is divided into 3 EPs. Along 9 tracks, it tells the story of the castaway's journey to reach the lighthouse that led him to be stranded on the island.
Each track is marked on a map of the island, marking the progress of the castaway. Tracks are accompanied by illustrations generated by artificial intelligence.
