The foundation for CORONA DARK was laid in late 2009 by Minikay Kerger (founding member, singer, and guitarist of the singer/songwriter outfit Stories to Tell). Following the split of his previous band, Kerger sought a new creative outlet—one that would channel the weight of Metal and the soul of Stoner Rock.
To bring this vision to life, he recruited his brother Kay and close friend Mirko Mainini. The lineup continued to evolve and strengthen over the following years: in 2011, Marc Kauffmann joined as the band's powerhouse drummer, and in 2013, Christian Langers stepped in as the second guitarist to complete the wall of sound.
Having remained in this exact constellation for over a decade, CORONA DARK has developed a sonic chemistry that is rare in today’s music scene. In 2025, the band entered a new era of production: while every song is still meticulously written and composed by the members themselves, they now utilize Artificial Intelligence to enhance and boost their sound to a new level of intensity. This fusion of human songwriting and AI-driven sonic power defines their current, massive output.
