As a singer/songwriter hailing from the Republican River Basin in North Central Kansas, over the last twenty years Craig Mikkel Stensaas has created an arsenal of music that paints a vivid depiction of the small town and rural way of life that has existed out in the Midwest for several decades.
Drawing musical influence from an assortment of genres including rock, country, and the blues, his self-titled debut album invokes a sound very much akin to contemporary Red Dirt music, while remaining authentic and sonically unique, thus introducing and establishing him as a substantial up-and-coming artist from the Central Plains region.
With the release of his sophomore project, The Memory Lane EP, Stensaas reveals a more mature and introspective caliber of songwriting and reimagines his "sound," delivering a set of songs more closely related to that of more traditional country music that certainly belongs on the radio of an old farm truck moseying down a dirt road.
