Positive punkers Cranked Up! unite members of several Philadelphia-area bands: vocalist Pat Society and drummer Jason from <a href="spotify:artist:6Ypb2N1JgzhPsy08gOSvL1">Violent Society</a>; guitarist Andy from Bomb Squadron; bassist Sid from Super Hi-5; and second guitarist Jon from no one but himself, thank you very much! Melding old-school punk aesthetics to modern sound values, the group issued a split 7" with the Neon Maniacs and an eight-song mini CD (both later combined into 2002's A Call for Solidarity on Creep Records) before signing to Blackout! and issuing their proper full-length debut, This Is a Weapon, in 2005. ~ Eduardo Rivadavia, Rovi
