It was 1988 when Crash Course took to the practice shed in San Jose, California. Between sets at the Club Griffin ramp, Mat Arluck (guitar), Todd Jackson (drums) and John England (bass) began to hone their brand of Nor-Cal punk. The Faction, Los Olvidados, Code of Honor––all the bands they were into were guys like them, guys who took command of their boards as well as their guitars. As the set list grew, so did the band. At the suggestion of mutual friend and frontman of SJ's Front-line, Joe Sib (now part owner of SideOneDummy Records), Miguel Barron joined on lead vocals. From there, the Crash Course sound started taking shape.
