Creekside History - After 12 albums and over 25 years in the music business, Creekside has maintained its integrity, possessing an endearing humility, and displaying spiritual depth and perception that has assisted in keeping them current as serious song writers and musicians.
David Ireland and Mike Kuykendall created Creekside in 1992.
David, the lead singer and songwriter, and Mike, the lead/rhythm guitarist, vocalist and engineer, met in Palo Alto, California and quickly formed a friendship that led them to writing songs together. In the beginning, things seemed like they would not come together as all their instruments were stolen. However, this experience left them even more determined.
Since that time, Creekside became extremely prolific and, in early 1994, they submitted a demo tape of their compositions to San Francisco’s foremost music critic, Steven Shore. In his opinion, the material was so strong that he convinced Dave and Mike to form a new record label, SFOR Productions. Dave and Mike went on to executive produce their debut album, “White House Blues,” which sold out within 3 months of the release.
The band’s rise in the rock scene continued with the rock song "Hussein," which was in the top 10 sales at Tower Records. Dave and Mike knew they were on the right path and continued writing more songs. Presently, they are still writing songs.
