Cris is an award-winning singer-songwriter, music arranger, author and performer who enjoys creating uplifting music in a wide variety of styles and genres. She has composed a lifetime of original music in many genres, inspired by the highlights, heartbreaks, hopes, and heroes of her life as well as stories of other people’s challenges and victories. Some of these songs have made their way to a 2012 CD of country music titled “Here’s to Sorrow,” with several receiving high honors in worldwide songwriting contests. Others are cataloged in her mind or messily written out on paper which Cris is working to organize, transcribe, and record.
In 2018, Cris has been collaborating with her daughter in their shared business Alaina Larsen Creative to develop faith-promoting songs and stories. With the publication of The First to See: Mary’s Easter Story, a children’s picture book inspired by their original folk song of the same name, Cris is humbled to now add “author” to her list of accomplishments.
In addition to all of the above, Cris has always had a passion for close vocal harmonies, which is what led her to a challenging and exciting hobby of singing and arranging music in a cappella vocal harmony styles. Her arrangements can be found on her website @www.crisconerty.com
