Crispin Charles

Crispin Charles was born and raised in Grenada and was influenced by the sweet sounds of soca music. At an early age music was a constant part of his life--his father was a DJ and he grew up listening to the sounds of: gospel, reggae, calypso, and soca. With DJ equipment setup in the household at the tender age of ten Crispin started learning to use the turntable- absorbing how to mix and make smooth music transitions. At the age of thirteen, Crispin started paying attention to rap/hip-hop after seeing a performance of DMX on TV—seeing the artist deliver rhymes with passion and hearing his songs daily on the radio was enough to entice young Crispin.

In 2012, Crispin was able to purchase his own equipment to record, master, and mix his records. He also started a ‘7 Bars’ challenge on Instagram, which allowed him to reach a broader audience. This gave him the drive and confidence, as it allowed him to refine his skills to another level. Fast forward to 2019; after all of life challenges Crispin is confident as ever and is going full force with his music.

Crispin’s style of rap is detailed and encapsulating- narrating and flow are his fortes.
