Formulated in 1992 in Albuquerque, NM, the band Crossroads has become a well-established band in the Tejano music industry. Harvesting multiple award nominations for musical projects released since 1996, Crossroads has obtained awards including “Cumbia, Salsa y Tropical Song of the Year,” “Instrumental Song of the Year”, "Conjunto Song of the Year,” “Original Song of the Year,” “Songwriter of the Year,” “Male Vocalist of the Year," “Female Vocalist of the Year,” and “Album of the Year."
In 2006, when Crossroads released their self-titled project is when the band progressed beyond being a local band and toured the southwest region of the United States. Their music began to be heard through the airwaves on Tejano Music radio stations across the nation. The self-titled project provided new millstones for Crossroads as they were the first group in the industry to receive multiple award nominations and winnings in multiple states with a single music project. During the same time frame, the project made it on to the Grammy Ballot.
A local band from New Mexico, crossing- over the NM-Texas boarder to became a well-established group into the Tejano Music industry is something that had never happened before with such a large “orquesta” with a female vocalist. Since then, Crossroads has shared the stage with many top artists and continues to work with may industry leaders in the Tejano Music industry.
