Conceived in the summer of 2023, Crown Tarot immediately started pulling its weight towards a potentially successful reign in the underground rock scene of Atlanta. The group consisted of Jay Pickard and Gage Pruitt of <a href="spotify:artist:5uTzQgyX98Gvevt3CsjGWh" data-name="Adrien Alias">Adrien Alias</a>, Patrick Smith of <a href="spotify:artist:2ZQPHWJVGuXqPlVnU7SePx" data-name="James Meizer">James Meizer</a>, Toby Johnson, and James Coyne of <a href="spotify:artist:5KMGuuQcnNgBpWmcAd8HBB" data-name="The Outfield Clovers">The Outfield Clovers</a>. Only ever having enough time to record one song and play one maiden show, the group officially disbanded in the early part of 2024. Their single “Something Else”, a revamped version of an old demo stored by Pickard, was recorded and produced by ATL native, <a href="spotify:artist:0EW0xHWSjZkYz6OmFk9X1V" data-name="Jack Hamill">Jack Hamill</a> at his home studio. An entire year had passed from the time of recording before Pickard finally released the single.
