Cruel Departure is a melodic metal band from Pargas, Finland. The band started as a thrash trio, that soon evolved into a five piece band that drew huge inspiration from acts such as In Flames and Children Of Bodom. Melodic songs with intricate solos and at times, crushingly heavy riffs make the characteristics for Cruel Departure's music. The original lineup consisted of Atte Weppling on guitar and vocals, Simon Lauren on bass, Benjamin Airosto on keyboards, Alexander Helander on drums and Robin Enlund on lead guitar. Unfortunately Robin passed away in September 2024, which left the band devastated. As a tribute to Robin, the band released its debut EP, "Illusion of Healing", that consists of 5 songs, all with guitar tracks recorded by Robin. Gabriel Björkqvist has joined the band as the new lead guitarist.
