Johannesburg, Soweto born artist Nyiko Mthembu professionally known as CRUSH 1291 is by his own definition “The next generations biggest musical influence”
A love for rap music in his adolescence led him to gaining popularity in Soweto’s rap scene but a passionate for melodies,composing and lyricism later led him to a realm beyond rap music. In June 2020 he released his debut project titled @Pieces showcasing his ability to effortlessly switch between African,Trap and RnB sounds with notable songs such as ‘Plenty’ and ‘Paris/London’. In 2021 he showed up on Amapiano viral hit ‘You my Baby’ and later released a 4-track EP titled ‘4 YOU’ led by singles ‘Sweetest Taboo’ and ‘Sawubona’
