“I make sure that everything I do and the way I approach a song and music is never small time.” – Crush, 2016
When Rnb/Pop sensation, Crush, stepped into the mainstream music scene, it was no surprise to industry insiders in the south. Born November 18, 1991 in Bamberg, Germany, Daniel Alexander Cuthrell or “Crush the Icon” is the son of two ministers, he spent much of his adolescent years performing in churches across the east coast in a group with his three brothers called, Four Joy. The quartet built a fan base performing before large and small crowds and even opening for Gospel great Shirley Caesar. The Four Joys were often referred to as, “The Gospel Jackson 5.” Crush proved to be similar to a young Michael Jackson, excelling as a solo artist, now vying to become The World’s Next Pop Icon.
Although Crush was born in Germany he spent most of his life in Winston Salem, North Carolina. During the summer of 2010, Crush moved to Richmond, Virginia, bringing with him an internationally-inspired musical fusion of sounds, allowing him the ability to produce and perform crossover tracks and write hit singles for a variety of artists and genres. A.Crush is the epitome of the term “entertainer”—a singer, songwriter, composer, producer, and dancer. Crush plays various instruments, including the piano; drums; trumpet; and bass, electric and acoustic guitar. He has a passion and gift for recognizing good music and a love for bringing emotion to life through unique arrangements.
