Crystal Finger is a new musical project lead by Jay D. Stiles, featuring some of Austin’s finest musicians. Jay is a Canadian singer/songwriter/keyboard player based in Austin, Texas. The debut record, Sweet & Sour, is a melting pot of funk, reggae, rock and ballads.
“Overall reminds me of Vulfpeck and Billy Preston, (both whom I love). I particularly like the way they sequence their records, singing is on the same value level as great playing. Over all great work, you’ve made a groovy and complex record that feels and sounds really great!” – Zach Gill (ALO, Jack Johnson)
“Fun, funky, and smooth, this is a strong recording with stand-outs like "Next To You", "Bye Bye" and "In Between" and these prompt a satisfying memory of Finley Quaye’s 1997 album, "Maverick A Strike". I dig 'em both” – Jeff Woods (Author & Host of Records & Rockstars).Sweet & Sour was recorded/mixed at 512 Studio in Austin, Texas by Omar Vallejo'Royal Empress' was recorded/mixed at the Dub Shack in Dripping Springs by Gordie JohnsonIt was mastered by Howie Weinberg in Los Angeles, CaliforniaThe Personnel:Jay D.
