Cultic

Cultic summons the crushing weight of Dungeon Metal from the shadows of Yoe, PA. Their sound is forged in the fires of early death doom, first-wave black metal, and punk grit, fused with haunting dungeon synth interludes and malevolent dark fantasy themes. Formed in 2016 by husband-and-wife duo Brian Magar (guitar/vocals) and Rebecca Magar (drums), Cultic channels the raw power of Winter, Hellhammer, and Celtic Frost.

Joined by bassist Andrew Harris, Cultic’s current lineup delivers a ferocious assault of sonic darkness. Their debut album, High Command (2019), was a battle cry from the depths, while Of Fire and Sorcery (2022) delved deeper into their grim fantasy world, introducing ominous dungeon synth passages and conceptual lore. Each album is part of a growing tapestry of darkness, with cover art forming a foreboding diptych of metal mythos.

In 2023, Cultic unleashed the maxi-single Seducer, followed later by an expanded cassette release through Crucial Blast. Seducer takes listeners on a thrilling journey into the raw, gritty world of dungeon metal, blending death doom, black metal, martial industrial, and dungeon synth. This release marked a visceral new chapter in the band’s evolving sound. With a new full-length album looming in 2025 via Crucial Blast, Cultic stands ready to thrust their listeners ever deeper into the dungeon’s embrace.
