Cutty Scooner

Cutty Scooner is the musical collective since 2020, currently based in Tokyo. Most of works are inspired by indie folk and indie rock musicians such as Sufjan Stevens, Bon iver.
New EP 「UNDERSCORE」 was released on 23rd November, 2022.
The theme of this EP is Loneliness. They created a cinematic sound and poetic world in which the outside scenery and one's daily life scenes are comfortably blended together. These songs remind us of the coming of spring after a cold winter, or a person standing alone in front of a fireplace or the sea. Some people may feel loneliness at the fact that others are just others. But that is not a bad thing. They made these songs for people who feel unaccepted in his/her environment. The sound includes a warmth that affirms their loneliness.


Cutty Scoonerは牧野辰紀と岩沢歩円によって結成された、物語を奏でる変幻自在の音楽プロジェクト。東京を拠点として活動を行なっている。作詞・作曲とVo./Pf./Per.を牧野、そしてBa.を岩沢が担当。2000年代のインディーフォークからインスパイアされた音楽性と、ストーリー性のある楽曲制作が特徴。作品ごとにあらゆる才能を迎えるスタイルで活動中。
2022年11月23日、EP「UNDERSCORE」をリリース。
今作では、誰もが感じる「孤独」や「疎外感」をテーマに、繊細な感情の機微を物語形式で表現した楽曲を揃えたコン
セプトEP。春の祝祭の中で波立つ心を壮大なサウンドスケープに落とし込み、Spotifyで初の「New
Music Wednesday」入りを果たした「UNDERSCORE」をはじめとする配信シングル４曲に加え、牧野
の歌声とバンジョーによる儚げなイントロが印象的な新曲「Lamp」、ユニットの空気感をそのまま感じ
ることができる「Interlude」を含む計６曲を収録。
楽器陣は、折坂雄太(合奏)の⻘野慧志郎(Cl.など)、ACOやTAMTAMのサポートを担う堀京太郎(Tp.)、
Luby Sparksの樋渡直(Gt.)、JARIBU AFROBEAT ARKESTRAのカールグッチ(Dr.)に加え、エンジニアに
君島⼤空などを⼿掛ける向啓介が参加。
