Cosmic disco, electropop, and vocoder-gospel. This is one way to describe the Swedish duo CYAMO. The duo combines classic songwriting with the rhythms of the dance floor. Sometimes the best way to cure a broken heart is to dance the tears away.
The electronic pop group CYAMO was formed by long time friends Per-Olof Stjärnered and Mathias Engwall in the late ‘10s in Gothenburg. After playing together in different indie bands, they wanted to create something new. CYAMO contains influences from Norwegian space disco, french touch, and funk.
The music is recorded and produced by CYAMO themselves in Mathias' living room. There, the duo's musical universe expands with analog synths, guitars, percussion, and keyboards.
Their first single Alright was released in 2019. This was followed by several singles and an EP.
The duo is currently finishing their debut album.
